The classification and collection of waste liquid in the disposal of hazardous waste in the laboratory is a very important part of the daily work of the laboratory. According to the "National Hazardous Waste List", the treatment of laboratory waste is based on classified collection, in-situ pretreatment, and waste treatment. In addition to the principle of cost reduction, laboratory waste cannot be dumped casually or mixed with garbage.

Referring to the mature classification methods at home and abroad, the laboratory waste is divided into the following categories:

(1) Highly toxic waste liquid: ① Waste liquid containing mercury ② Waste liquid containing arsenic ③ Waste containing cyanide ④ Waste containing cadmium

(2) Organic waste liquid:

① halogen-containing organic waste liquid;

②General organic waste liquid.

(3) Inorganic waste liquid:

① Waste liquid containing heavy metals; ② Waste acid solution; ③ Waste lye; ④ Other waste liquid containing salt; ⑤ Waste liquid containing radioactivity; ⑥ Unknown waste liquid.

(4) Waste chemicals: various solid waste residues, expired solid medicines, waste solid reagents, etc.;

(5) Waste Reagent Empty Bottles: Various reagent empty bottles.

Laboratory hazardous waste collection method:

(1) Laboratory waste

After the various waste liquids in the laboratory are classified according to the above requirements, they are put into uniform specifications of strong acid and alkali resistant thickened high-density polyethylene barrels. The space between the waste liquid level and the barrel mouth must be at least 10 cm to prevent overflow.

(2) Bottled reagent drugs or general solid waste

Bottled reagent drugs or general laboratory solid waste are placed in a 25L wide-mouth plastic drum according to the same type of nature, sealed with a lid, and a classification label is posted outside the plastic drum, and finally the sealed 25L plastic drum is placed in a customized plastic cardboard box In the middle, the plastic pallet box is tightly sealed with a lid.

(3) Waste reagent empty bottle

Empty bottles of waste reagents are neatly packed in cartons or packaging bags, and classification labels are posted outside the packaging, and then the cartons or packaging bags are placed in a plastic cardboard box, which is tightly sealed with a lid.

(4) Unknown waste liquid or unknown bottled reagent drugs

Unknown waste liquid or unknown bottled reagent drugs should be individually packaged, and the management process should be implemented in accordance with the management regulations for high-risk chemicals.

If you only use ordinary solvent barrels, it is still impossible to avoid the problems of solvent volatilization and pollution to the environment and health. Beijing Aowei Instruments' green laboratory series solutions are specifically designed to solve this problem, such as the SE series solvent safety bottle caps are highly efficient Filter the dust in the air, prevent the mobile phase from polluting, and ensure the accuracy of the analysis results; when the chromatographic instrument stops working, prevent the mobile phase from volatilizing through the air inlet to protect the laboratory environment from pollution.

Intubation type/funnel type waste liquid collection device is used to collect waste liquid discharged from laboratory equipment. The exhaust gas filter can efficiently adsorb harmful gases, protect the laboratory environment and protect the health of the experimenters. Rechargeable liquid level alarm to prevent liquid overflow. Various types of secondary containers prevent secondary pollution and meet regulatory requirements.
